Hello,

Good to see artciles that give differing views. What is unfortunate is that the NMHAAC ( Nanaimo Mental Health & Addiction Advisory Council) sensor which ones they deem should be presented to the members. This is but one of the reasons I do not attend the NMHAAC meetings anymore. You should be very proud of such a one sided council. There was a time when the council was there for all in the community, not just those that support VIHA and the BCSS.
Mental health is not just the medical model, pyschiatrists, and medications. As a psychiatric survivor and an advocate I find that such narrow minded individuals as many sitting on the council are a harmful detriment to many who live in our community.

Again I welcome differing views and information regarding mental health, as I learn from the many not the few.

Censorship is a nail in the coffin of a holistic approach to mental health, shame on a council that has lost it's mandate to advocate for many marginalized in our community and to hold VIHA accountable.

 Shame, shame, shame.
