Port Rally - Idle No More - Snuneymuxw tonight 6pm
Hello Mid Islanders
The Snuneymuxw First Nation has joined the call for a public rally at 6pm tonight (Monday Jan 7th) at Pioneer Park (beside the bastion downtown) leading up to the public meeting being held at the Coast Bastion about the proposal to privatize the boat basin.
The Port Authority wants to sign a deal to privatize the operation of the publicly owned boat basin. This will have a big effect on working people who use these docks. If the Port Authority is too incompetent to run this public facility in a competent and cost efficient manner (the argument for privatization is that private business always does everything better…) then they should resign and let someone competent run the Port Authority.
Rally at 6pm - Pioneer Park (beside the Bastion on Front St.)
Public meeting at the Coast Bastion from 7-9pm
